About Me

Nice to meet you
I’m Denise

We have more power than we realize to consciously create the life we deeply desire.

Just like most things, this realization didn’t just fall into my lap while I was easily flowing through life. It was a lesson that had to be learned because I kept hitting one wall after another. The stubbornness and “don’t give up” mentality that I possessed kept me on a path forward even if I was just dragging my body through the process. The spiritual journey that I found myself on saved me. It saved me from myself and from the mindset that kept me trapped in a system of thinking that was no longer serving me.

After college and years of fast paced industries, I landed in the beauty community for over a decade. Working with clients, maintaining a brand, and constantly pumping out new work became performative and put a strain on the boundaries that I had with myself. They essentially became nonexistent. I was never getting enough sleep, was feeling extreme anxiety and stress, constantly overextending my schedule, chasing the feeling of finally being “enough,” and trying to keep the depression and panic attacks at bay. The industry allowed me to tap into my creativity and connection with others, but even with all of the success achieved throughout the years; I was silently fighting a constant battle with my mental health.

Everyone needs to hit their personal rock bottom in order to change. I am a firm believer that when the discomfort of not changing becomes greater than the discomfort to change, that’s when it will happen.

Unfortunately; I am no exception to that rule.

Struggling with bouts of depression was something I had experienced over the last 20 years, but eventually it took complete control of my life and every thought and cell in my body felt it. After 6 years of battling crippling depression, anxiety, an overachiever persona with unattainable goals due to perfectionism, and an inner critic so deeply demanding and judgmental that working to the point of exhaustion, and then beating myself up for needing rest was the cyclical nature of my existence. My diet was absolutely terrible and although I didn’t make the connection initially, I now know how deeply it contributed to my negative health.

I never felt good enough & my world got pretty dark (that’s when the suicidal ideations started). Hiding that pain was easier than going into all of the details as to why I wasn’t okay, so I buried it deeper. Three years of therapy allowed me to peel back the layers and unburden some of my older traumas. The medication lessened the emotional seesaw for a while, but the root of my pain and inadequacy was still there. Simply put, I just didn’t love myself in any capacity.

After years and years of just getting by and not fully living, I reached my breaking point.

Emotionally I was depleted, mentally I was exhausted and I was beyond physically drained from holding it “together” for so long. I knew that I could not continue living the way that I was and started looking for another way.

I became determined to heal my body and mind naturally, and to figure out who I was.

Eventually my journey lead to a holistic model of healing. I started with cleansing my body and then I cleansed my mind one belief at a time (which was an intense two-year process). One dismantled thought lead to another. I was reading any book related to personal development, spirituality, and mindset that I could get my hands on. I started practicing ancient modalities and different ways to honor my existence.

It was one of the most mentally challenging yet liberating moments of my life.

There were a few things that I learned throughout this journey of self-discovery and unburdening.

I learned no one is going to save you from yourself. It is your responsibility to create the happiness you desire.

I learned that I had no idea how to love myself and if I wanted to truly heal, radical acceptance was the only way forward.

I learned that my inner critic was not the voice I had put in my head, but it became the voice that dictated how I felt about myself.

I learned that you could absolutely change your entire perspective, but you have to build it one day at a time.

I learned that self-compassion is so much more effective than self-criticism.

I learned that you can’t create a new reality if you are basing it off of experiences from your past. Those moments have already happened and cannot help us in creating anything new.

I learned that everythingI needed was within me.

My journey to healing has not been easy. The process of unlearning old toxic habits and thinking patterns, and relearning new ones is one that confronts you every step of the way. It was however; the best investment I made in myself!

We weren’t taught that we could change our brains, let alone change our entire perspective on reality. Hearing “just think positive” only frustrated me further because no matter how many times I tried it, it just didn’t stick. It wasn’t until I really learned about the power of the subconscious mind, the mind’s connection with the body, and how to align with my soul in order to feel true internal happiness, approval, and acceptance (that I had always sought from other people) that I was able to find what I was looking for.

This personal mission to heal this vessel and free my mind from the cage I had built around it subconsciously became the catalyst into this beautiful passion that is now my work. Becoming a certified holistic life coach & mind-body practitioner is the peak of my personal life experience and knowledge gained. It is also the language in which I want to communicate with the world. The question that has since dawned on me is , how many others are struggling with the same thing and don’t know where to start?

My hope is to inspire you to live authentically, radically loving and fully knowing the person that you are.

So beautiful soul – are you ready to set yourself free from everything meant to keep you small? I wasn’t when I started because I didn’t know what that would look like. I was scared. But I learned to love myself. I learned the tools to heal my mind, to ease my body, and to listen to what my soul needed from me. We each have the capacity within us to create change in our lives. The magic is unlocked once you are aware and tapped into this personal power. Realizing this power changed my life. I want to help you do the same.

Sending you love and light,

Denise
